The Alcohol Drug Education Class (ADEC) class is a great resource for both parents and youth to learn more about the current trends and issues around alcohol, drugs, and nicotine. This three-hour intervention class teaches youth and their parents/caregivers about the impact of substance use, including nicotine, alcohol, cannabis, and other substances. The class is lead by a Youth Eastside Services credentialed substance use dependency professional.
The class is open to the community and is FREE.
This three-hour class for youth and parents includes:
• Current drugs of abuse
• Brain and body effects of drugs and alcohol
• Legal and other consequences for youth
• Risks of progression (from use to abuse to addiction)
• Recognizing a substance abuse problem and what to do about it
• Making decisions that keep you out of trouble
