Champions for Youth Janet and Mark McClure

For Mark and Janet McClure, it’s all about the kids.

“The youth stories. That’s our favorite part of the breakfast,” they recently shared. “So many of us in that room just feel so lucky to be there and in a position to help. Hearing from children in need is so moving.”

Mark said meeting the people behind the work really makes you want to be involved, “you can just feel the energy and passion for the mission. The work they do seems impossible, but they do it!”

The McClures were already YES donors for several years when one day they found themselves sitting in the lobby waiting for an appointment of their own.

Mark said, “I would never have dreamed it, but there I was sitting at YES. That experience really showed us all that YES does for parents too. We learned so much.”

Both Mark and Janet believe that every family needs help sometimes. They choose to invest in YES because they believe all families deserve access to comprehensive behavioral health care for depression, anxiety, substance use, and more.

In celebration of our 50th anniversary, we honor longtime Champions for Youth like Mark and Janet. We are deeply grateful for their partnership and the generosity of so many others who make transformation possible every day for local young people and their families.

For 50 years, caring community members have supported and advanced Youth Eastside Services’ mission through their generous contributions. Every gift helps further YES’ service to youth and families, and gifts of $1,000 or more are especially critical to our ability to meet behavioral health care needs, now and in the future.
