Thanks to 18 local businesses and community groups who donated over $10,000 in gift cards to YES Adopt-A-Family Program, 56 Youth Eastside Services(YES) client families will be able to purchase gifts, food, and other necessary household items this holiday season.

“It was a surprise to me, how someone that doesn’t even know our family could be so generous and share so much kindness with me and my boys,” said an Adopt-A-Family recipient.

YES helps children, youth and families when they have nowhere else to turn for mental health and substance use issues and over 60% of clients qualify for financial assistance.  While we support these families year-round with mental health counseling services, substance use treatment, psychiatric care, in-school programs and more, during the holiday season, we also try to bring a little extra joy to their lives.

“The holidays are a very hard time for families in need,” said Patti Skelton McGougan, Chief Executive Officer of YES. “To bring joy to them, where the parents don’t have to stress how to get gifts or food, allows them to have a meaningful holiday. It really helps.”

While the application process for 2019 has closed, you can still ensure that ALL children, youth and families in East King County have access to mental health and substance use counseling and treatment, regardless of their ability to pay. Please make your gift by midnight on December 31st and through your generosity impact children and youth in a lasting way.

We would like to extend very special thanks to each and every generous Adopt-A-Family sponsor, and to all our 2019 donors. We couldn’t do it without you!
