Overview YES always seeks to improve the quality of its services. This requires direct input from the youth it serves. Therefore, in the fall of 2008, YES initiated a Teen Advisory Council. Council members learn about different aspects of YES’ programs and provide advice to senior staff on how to improve these programs. Council members also represent YES to their schools and other social groups. The council is made up of eight to twelve high-school-aged students drawn from the areas YES serves. The Council meets monthly between October and May and provides participants with over 20 hours of community service time. For more information send an email to Youth Council.
Apply Now and Make a Difference YES is looking for dedicated high school students who will strive to help the organization by providing insight and advice about existing programs, helping direct expansion to new areas, and purposefully representing YES to their social groups. In order to evaluate each applicant, YES asks that the applicant gives general background information; writes a one-page to two-page essay; and provides one or more references from a teacher, family friend, coach, employer, or any other adult. To apply to the Teen Advisory Council, email Youth Council. |
