Treatment & Counseling Options

Helping Youth & Families Overcome Substance Abuse
When a child becomes a drug or alcohol abuser, it impacts the entire family. YES' certified Chemical Dependency Professionals work with youth struggling with substance abuse and dependency as well as with their family. We offer a number of treatment approaches and will recommend one or more based on each individual case.

  • Individual Counseling—One-to-one counseling with youth and possibly family members.

  • Alcohol and Drug Education Class (ADEC)—4-hour course for parents and youth taught one Saturday each month. It covers drug trends, effects of drug and alcohol use, legal issues, and how to combat substance abuse. Click here for a class flier.

  • Aware Program for Youth & Parents—10-week group program, followed by an exit interview, to help parents and youth better understand substance abuse and addiction. Youth and parent groups are held simultaneously and separately. Click here for a program flier.

  • Treatment Group—Weekly group designed specifically for adolescents with drug problems, to motivate a decision and commitment to change. Click here for information.

  • Recovery Group—Weekly group to help young people recovering from addiction develop healthy relationships, stay sober and manage life's challenges in healthy ways. Click here for information.

  • School-based Substance Abuse Services—Prevention/intervention specialists provide services in Lake Washington School District junior and senior high schools including evaluation, short-term individual counseling, education groups, classroom presentations, and parent or staff consultation on substance abuse-related issues.
