Real Help for Real Issues
Youth Eastside Services is the place kids and their families can turn to for help that is expert, confidential, respectful and effective. Just about everyone faces challenges at different times in their life. For kids, who lack the experience and coping skills adults have, these challenges can be overwhelming. But given the right tools and support all kids and families can thrive, regardless of emotional wounds or challenges.

Common issues we address:
  • Behavioral difficulties
  • School-related problems such as peer conflict or academic stress
  • Parent-child conflicts and other family relationship issues including blending families
  • Grief & loss including divorce adjustment
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Depression and/or anxiety
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Physical or sexual abuse and trauma
  • Substance abuse
  • Sexual orientation or identification

General counseling services are provided at our locations in Bellevue, Kirkland and Redmond and at select schools in the Lake Washington and Bellevue school districts.

Best Practice Approaches That Work
Our services and programs are “evidence-based” which means they have undergone research through clinical testing and are proven to be effective.  All of our care is solution-oriented and can be brief or ongoing.  What’s more we track and monitor effectiveness to ensure the programs we use work.  On average, about 90% of our clients reach their treatment goals, far above state and national averages.

Support for Parents
Because youth thrive best in healthy families, we also work with parents, guardians and other family members to support effective parenting strategies, resolve conflict, help with substance abuse issues, and teach parents how to support their child, especially when they’re struggling or feeling overwhelmed.

Counselors Focused on Youth and Their Families
Our counselors are licensed mental health practitioners with specialized training specifically for working with children, young adults and families. In addition, we have credentialed Chemical Dependency Professionals (CDPs) who help youth in need of substance abuse treatment or those who are suffering from a combination of mental health and substance abuse issues.

We focus solely on youth and their families, and we are one of the largest and most experienced providers of youth counseling services in the region. We partner with area universities such as University of Washington, Seattle University and Seattle Pacific University, serving as a training center for new counselors who serve internships at YES.
