Director of Fund Development & Community Relations - SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, implement and oversee fund development and community relations functions in support of all YES programs and services. Work in collaboration with Executive Director, program staff and Board of Trustees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Responsible for planning, development, implementing and monitoring all development programs and activities including: Annual fund drive, major gifts, planned giving, foundation and corporate relations, community and civic giving, special events, and private and public grant writing. • Works with the Executive Director and Board of Trustees to develop an annual plan for insuring that the community is aware of Youth Eastside Services programs to the maximum extent that available resources allow. • Organizes and produces, in cooperation with staff and volunteers, key promotional materials i.e., annual report, newsletters, brochures and regularly sends press releases and/or public service announcements to the media. Prepares, organizes and distributes materials related to the annual membership and end of the year campaigns. • Provides information to community groups and organizations upon request and/or as needed to promote agency programs. • Assists the Board in developing, planning and carrying out specific fund raising activities. • Provides staff support to the Fund Development Committee of the Board. • Develops and submits specific requests to community organizations, businesses and individuals for funding in accordance with the annual fund development plan. • Maintains an effective mailing list and funding database in relationship with all fund development activities. • Identifies and pursues in-kind resources which will efficiently support agency goals and objectives. • Develops and implements planned giving program. • Speak publicly on behalf of the agency at community functions and board meetings. • Supervise the activities of the Individual Gifts Manager, Corporate & Foundation Relations Manager, and Fund Development/Volunteer Coordinator. • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 5+ years experience in fund development and community relations; excellent development skills and entrepreneurial spirit; ability to handle multiple tasks inside and outside the agency; good planning and organizational skills. BA degree or equivalent; excellent oral, written and presentation skills; non-profit experience and supervisory experience essential. Intermediate computer skills in Windows, Word, Excel. Knowledge of Donor Perfect and databases preferred. Reference Job #WB08-003
Youth & Family Counselor - Full time to provide outpatient youth & family counseling (days and evenings). Collaborative and supportive work environment. Experience in youth and family counseling.
