Adopt-A-Family matches company, community group and individual sponsors with a family in need of basic necessities.
This year job losses, pay cuts and loss of benefits due to the economic crisis mean Eastside kids and families are facing more financial and emotional pressures than ever. Youth and families facing challenges are turning to YES for the support they need to stay strong and healthy during this time of crisis.
The holidays can add to the pressures kids and parents face, but they can also bring much needed help. The YES “Adopt-A-Family” program provides a welcome relief from life’s pressures in general and those of the holiday season in particular, bringing warm holiday cheer to Eastside kids and families who need help.
In 2009, 87 individual, community group and business sponsors “adopted” 142 families. Thanks to Adopt-A-Family sponsors, 537 kids and parents got a much needed gift that shows how much the YES community cares for families that are facing challenges.
